Storms bring rain and a light show
A thunderstorm brought lightning and rain to Southern California Friday night, Oct. 12.
Lighting could be seen and thunder heard across a wide swath of the region. Rain began falling in downtown Los Angeles about 7:30 p.m. after several flashes of lightning. Thunder claps could also be heard.
Light rain and lightning were also reported in Orange County.
Lightning forced the postponement of many football games in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Thunderstorms followed by showers were possible Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, which forecast clear weather on Sunday.
The lightning brought out a lot of photographers, who posted their images of the light show on social media.
