O.C. ‘Housewife’ Tamra Judge pays $2.025 million for Coto de Caza home
O.C. “Real Housewife” Tamra Judge and husband Eddie are officially Coto de Caza homeowners, closing sale on a six-bedroom residence in the guard-gated enclave for $2.025 million.
The home was listed on Sept. 14 at $2.095 million. It last sold in June 2017 for $1.78 million, according to property records.
The couple sold their five-bedroom house in Ladera Ranch for $1.75 million on Oct. 1. They bought the home in December 2017, but flipped it after Tamra decided it brought them bad luck.
Built in 2001, the 4,840-square-foot Coto house is on a quarter-acre lot in a single-loaded street with oak trees as a backdrop.
An open floor plan, Restoration Hardware lighting and fixtures and dark hardwood flooring give the home a polished vibe. The updated, eat-in kitchen has a wine fridge and a walk-in pantry, and the bathrooms are finished in Carrara marble. A sitting area and walk-in closet with a center built-in are found in the master suite.
The backyard boasts a swimming pool and spa, fire pit and barbecue area.
A photo of the home that Tamra Judge posted on Instagram on Friday, Oct. 19, the day the sale closed, drew more than 96,500 likes as of Sunday morning.
“Is this another flip?” someone asked. “No,” she replied.
One person wondered if she’ll leave the house as is or remodel. “Minor stuff inside. Mostly back yard … outdoor bar & living area,” Tamra said.
Another person noted – inaccurately – “Most don’t know Coto is in the DESERT/60 min. drive from ocean, but outside of that …”
“If I wanted to move to the coast I would,” Tamra responded.
Jackie Guthrie of RE/MAX Evolution had the listing. Shelley Black of Veranda Realty represented the Judges.
The median sale price for homes in the Coto de Caza/Trabuco Canyon area in August was $965,091, according to monthly figures from real estate data firm CoreLogic. That was a 12.2 percent increase over August 2017. It doesn’t mean values went up that much; monthly data also can reflect a change in the mix of homes sold.
Coto de Caza was where Bravo TV’s first “Housewives” show aired, shooting there in 2006 before expanding to other Orange County communities. Tamra Judge, then Tamra Barney, joined the cast in Season 3 in November 2007.
“Housewives” Vicki Gunvalson and Gina Kirschenheiter also live in Coto.
