North Tustin home with 800-vine vineyard on market for $4 million
A four-bedroom North Tustin home on the market for $3.88 million has a buzz-worthy feature: an 800-vine vineyard that’s produced grapes for Sangiovese, Syrah and Cabernet Franc varietals.
The 7,933-square-foot Lemon Heights home is set on just over two acres surrounded by fences and electronic gates. Built in 1976 and remodeled, the home contains soaring vaulted ceilings, an expansive open floor plan, a formal living room and two master suites.
In the kitchen is an oversized, copper-top island, as well as commercial-grade Viking & Sub-Zero appliances. A full-size pantry is part of the culinary setup.
The master suites have distinctly designed fireplaces and spacious walk-in closets. There’s also a sauna. Grounds include a swimming pool and spa, plus a seating area with a fire pit.
Homeowners Monica and Craig Erion created the vineyard because they got tired of looking at an old tennis court, Monica Erion said.
“We needed something new and different to throw our money at,” she said. “And boy, did we hit the jackpot.”
The Sangiovese, Syrah and Cab Franc vines “have been planted, pruned and harvested, all by hand – with the help of a few friends – on our land,” she said. “They’ve been gently spoken to, caressed and loved because I was told that you get a happier and more flavorful grape if you do that.”
The harvest is produced and bottled elsewhere.
The couple doesn’t sell their “Blind Cat” label, which memorializes a departed pet. They share the wine with friends as gifts.
Geni Addicott of Coldwell Banker represents the property.
