Suspect arrested after shooting two men, attempting to carjack another in Garden Grove

Two men were stable at a hospital after they were shot in Garden Grove early Saturday morning, Nov. 17, authorities said.

Just before 2:30 a.m., Garden Grove officers were called to the area of Harbor Boulevard and Buaro Street on a call of shots heard in the area, Sgt. M. Martinez said.

When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot – one in the neck and the other in the chest. They were shot during a robbery, Martinez said.

The two men were transported to a hospital and were expected to survive their wounds.

Shortly after, police received a call from another victim who said a man armed with a rifle attempted to carjack his vehicle nearby at Harbor Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard, Martinez said.

Officers responded and found a man matching the suspect’s description. He was identified by the victim as the suspect and was taken into custody.

Nearby, officers found a rifle and stolen property from the robbery, Martinez said.

Police did not release information about the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.
