Twins and triplets share two and three times the holiday cheer at South Coast Plaza
Santa Claus had his lap full at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Friday, Nov. 30, with a visit from a group for parents of twins and triplets.
The Saddleback Mothers of Multiple Club, with the kids sporting fur-trimmed jackets and holiday sweaters, hit the mall before it opened to the public to ride the reindeer carousel, color paper Christmas trees and get their photos taken with the jolly man in the red suit.
“It’s a real treat for us because as you can imagine, trying to take twins or triplets anywhere can be challenging,” said Danielle Foster, a club member and mom of 4-year-old fraternal twins.
A group of about 50 families came to the club’s annual holiday event, which Foster said is made possible by a South Coast Plaza program for nonprofit groups. Besides holding regular family activities, Saddleback Mothers of Multiples offers education and support for new parents of more than one sibling, whether identical or fraternal.
If you wonder what kind of support families need, Foster said, just imagine trying to potty train two kids at once.
