Fire damages vacant Saddleback Lodge in Santa Ana
Firefighters battled stubborn flames that engulfed the now-abandoned Saddleback Lodge in Santa Ana early Tuesday morning.
Santa Ana Structure Fire: 4:30 am. 1655 E 1st St. Abandoned Saddleback Lodge. Fire on the second and third floor. 2 alarms with approx 65 firefighters onscene. No injuries reported. Crews making excellent progress in knocking down the fire.

Crews were called to 1655 E. First Street at around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a fire at the vacant hotel, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
After about an hour, about 65 firefighters were able to knock down the fire, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
