Man shot, injured in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA — A man in his early 20s was shot and wounded Wednesday night in Santa Ana.

The shooting was reported about 8:20 p.m. in the area of First Street and Harbor Boulevard, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Calls of shots fired were received, but officers were directed to an area away from the intersection, police said.

The victim later showed up at a hospital and police were called.

The young man was in stable condition, police said.

The investigation was centered on a 7-Eleven parking lot, where bullet casings were visible, according to a news photographer at the scene.

No suspect information was immediately available and it was unclear what led up to the shooting.
