Watch: Police ask for help identifying 2 suspects in video trying to stab jeweler in robbery attempt
Two men tried to stab a South Pasadena jeweler and rob his store, police say, and they’re asking for help to identify the suspects.
One of the men can be seen on a security video trying to stab the business owner during the attempted robbery at Vana Watch and Jewelry at 1401 Mission St. on Friday, Dec. 14 at about 10:54 a.m., police said.
A scuffle followed, and another employee pointed a gun at the men, who fled in what was described as a green Chevy Malibu.
The incident begins at about the 4:30 mark on the video.
The video shows the men hanging around in the store for a little over four minutes before the attempted stabbing.
“I didn’t feel comfortable so I came out from the back to the floor and my nephew was in the background and one of them pulled out a knife,” the owner, Jean Boujekian, told ABC7. “Probably the scariest thing, everything slowed down and your adrenaline is pumping … it felt like an eternity, but when you look at the video it happened every fast.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 626-403-7280 or LA Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
