2 killed in multi-vehicle crash on Garden Grove Freeway
GARDEN GROVE – A 9-year-old girl and a 33-year-old woman were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway in Garden Grove this morning, authorities said.

Officers responded at 1 a.m. to reports of an overturned vehicle in the westbound lanes of the freeway east of Valley View Street, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.
The 9-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics rushed the 33-year-old woman to U.C. Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where she died from her injuries at 1:47 a.m, according to the coroner’s office.
“There’s physical evidence across the whole entirety of SR-22, so we have officers collecting that physical evidence,” CHP Sgt. April Carter told Fox11.
The overturned vehicle was a Ford F-150 pickup truck, Fox11 said.
The CHP could not confirm whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
