Motorcyclist killed in crash on 73 in Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning in a traffic crash on the San Joaquin Hills Transportation (73) Corridor in Newport Beach, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

The crash at MacArthur Boulevard occurred a little before 2:15 a.m., according to a CHP dispatcher, who added that it was unclear which direction the motorcyclist was traveling at the time of the crash.

A representative from the coroner’s office was called to the location at 3:36 a.m., she said.
