Sewage spill closes stretch of Laguna Beach
A sewage spill has closed down a portion of Laguna Beach Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The 300-gallon sewage spill prompted the closure of 250 feet up coast and 250 down coast from Upland Road.
The spill was caused by a blockage at a sewer main in Laguna Beach.
The affected ocean water area will remain closed to ocean water-contact sports until the results of follow-up water quality monitoring meet acceptable standards, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
There’s also warnings due to elevated bacteria at Mother’s Beach in the Huntington Harbour, the M Dock in the East Basin and at Doheny State Beach from the harbor breakwater to 300 feet down coast of San Juan Creek, and 75 feet up and down the coast from the Pico drain at North Beach in San Clemente.
