Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Berkeley

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Wednesday in Claremont, Calif., near Berkeley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:42 a.m. Pacific at a depth of 6.8 miles.
