2 arrested after traffic stop in Fullerton of U-Haul truck leads to discovery of possible drug lab
Two people were arrested after California Highway Patrol officers found a possible drug lab inside a roving U-Haul box truck early Monday, Jan. 28, after a traffic stop.
The CHP officers were driving on the 91 freeway at about 1:14 a.m. when they noticed that liquid was coming out of the moving vehicle, CHP Officer Monica Posada said.
They pulled the vehicle over onto the city streets of Fullerton, making a traffic stop at Brookhurst Road and Roberta Avenue, she said: “There was still liquid coming out of the truck.”
After some investigation, the driver and passenger were arrested.
Firefighters and a hazmat crew were called out to the truck to figure out what the substance was; that had not been determined. But materials and equipment in the truck signaled to the vehicle being a possible drug lab, CHP officials said.
The streets around the vehicle were closed for several hours during the investigation.
