Homeless programs in Southern California get millions in HUD money to continue services
The federal Dept. of Housing and Urban Development announced Tuesday, Jan. 29, monetary awards totaling more than $171 million to renew funding for homeless assistance programs — housing and services — in five Southern California counties.
Los Angeles County and the city of Los Angeles received the largest amount in the 2018 fiscal year Continuum of Care grants at $114 million to support 141 local projects.
A Continuum of Care is the planning network in a geographic area that coordinates money and services to address homelessness.

- Santa Ana/Anaheim/Orange County, $23 million for 26 projects
- San Bernardino County and city, $9.7 million for 20 projects

- Long Beach, $7.7 million for 19 projects
- Pasadena, $3.2 million for 10 projects
