Man apparently struck by own vehicle in Fullerton; is found dead
Police found a man dead after he was apparently struck by his own car in Fullerton on Monday, Feb. 4.
A caller reported a single-vehicle collision on the 800 block of Morningside Drive at about 7:45 p.m., said Fullerton Police Lt. Michael Hines. He said responding officers found a man dead in the street with his own sedan resting on top of him.
Hines said the car did not show visible signs of damage and its engine was not running when officers arrived. He said the street may not have been perfectly level, but the collision did not happen on a steep hill.
There were no witnesses to the crash, and the vehicle’s registered owner did not appear to have suffered traumatic injuries despite the circumstances under which he was discovered, according to Hines.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his age and identity were not immediately released. Investigators were at the crash site late Monday, working to piece together what led up to his death.
