Man stabbed to death behind commercial buildings in Cerritos

by in News

Authorities are investigating a stabbing where one man was killed in Cerritos on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Just before 3 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at an abandoned railway between commercial buildings in a largely commercial area near the 16200 block of Shoemaker Avenue, a sheriff’s statement said.

When they arrived at the railway, deputies found a man with multiple stab wounds. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Detectives had not recovered a weapon nor did they have a suspect description, the statement said. They believe the man was homeless and was living in a nearby encampment.
