Citibank in Costa Mesa robbed at gunpoint
COSTA MESA – A suspect robbed a bank Friday in Costa Mesa.
Officers responded about 2:40 p.m. to a report of a robbery at a Citibank branch at 234 E. 17th St., authorities said.
“While en route to the call, it was determined that a man had entered the bank and fled the scene with cash,” Costa Mesa Police Department public affairs manager Roxi Fyad said. “It was reported he had a gun. No injuries were reported.”
The suspect, whose age was unknown, was described as 5 feet 7 to 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds and wearing a button-up shirt, black jacket, dark pants and black-rimmed glasses.
