British band Her’s killed in crash heading for show at The Observatory in Santa Ana
Both members of a Liverpool band and their manager were killed early Wednesday in a crash en route to a show that night at The Observatory in Santa Ana.
The duo’s label, Heist or Hit, confirmed the news in a Facebook post, saying band members Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading and tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson had died. The group was traveling from its last show in Arizona on the I-10.
According to Arizona reports, three people in a passenger van and another person in a pickup truck were killed when their vehicles collided head-on.
The group was on their second tour of North America, playing 19 shows, the post says.
Her’s released its debut album, “Invitation To Her’s,” last year. The band’s style of music was described as dream-pop and rock.
“We are all heartbroken,” the post says. “Musically, Her’s were astonishing. An aptitude for melody, fun, and entertainment combined with a complexity that was as sophisticated as it was stylish. …
“Everyone here at the label is overwhelmed and distraught. We have lost our friends and the world has been denied their talent.”
