Woman crashes car into utility pole in Orange

ORANGE — A busy intersection was partially closed for hours Monday morning, April 8, after a woman drove into a utility pole, knocking down a power line, authorities said.

The solo crash was reported at around 3 a.m. at Batavia Street and Katella Avenue.

A woman was taken to a hospital with injuries; her condition was not publicly released. Police were investigating whether she was intoxicated.

Southern California Edison workers were dispatched to repair the power line and pole. According to the power company, power was expected to be restored to the 26 affected customers by about 3 p.m.
