Authorities were searching Friday, April 12, for a teenage boy accused of murder who escaped from Juvenile Hall in Orange overnight.

Ike Souzer, 15, reportedly escaped Orange County Juvenile Hall at around 12:11 a.m., an Orange County sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Souzer left the detention center at 331 The City Drive in Orange. He has been in custody since 2017 though details of the crime he is accused of were not immediately available.

Sheriff’s officials were assisting the Orange County Probation Department in the search, a department spokeswoman confirmed.

He is described as a white male about six-feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He is believed to be wearing a white shirt and red pants and may have a cut on his leg.

It was immediately unknown how the boy made his way out of the jail, which is a 434-bed facility for boys and girls typically from 12 to 18 years old. They are detained there pending court hearings in the neighboring Lamoreaux Juvenile Justice Center.

Anyone with information was asked to call dispatch at 714-647-7000.
