Man surrenders after 7-hour barricade in Stanton home
A man barricaded himself inside a home in Stanton for more than seven hours before he peacefully surrendered to authorities Thursday morning.
Deputies responded about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 10200 block of Fern Avenue and tried to make contact with the man, who was suspected of violating a restraining order and other domestic violence-related offenses, said sheriff’s Lt. W. Rehnelt.
The suspect refused to come out of the house and a SWAT team was called in to negotiate the man’s surrender, Rehnelt said. The man came out of the house around 2 a.m. and was taken into custody.
