2 charged in suspected gang killing in Santa Ana in November
SANTA ANA — Authorities say a documented Santa Ana gang member and a gang associate have been charged in the death of a rival gang member in November.
Vincent Alcaraz, 47, is charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a gun and prohibited person owning ammunition, all felonies.
He also was charged with a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest and faces a sentencing enhancement for discharging a gun causing death.
Co-defendant Dorsa Pourhajir, 21, is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, both felonies, and faces a sentencing enhancement for discharge of a gun causing death. Police described Pourhajir as a gang associate.
The pair got into some sort of unspecified dispute with 20-year-old Victor Palomera, who belonged to a rival gang, in the 2300 block of Ramona Drive on Nov. 5, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said Friday.
The dispute escalated into a fight that led both defendants to allegedly shoot the victim, Bertagna said.
