SANTA ANA — A 45-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday, April 23, and was immediately sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for killing two Wienerschnitzel employees in Santa Ana during a robbery in 1991.

Alejandro Galindo Dominguez pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and admitted sentencing enhancements for the use of a firearm, multiple murders and a special circumstance allegation of killing during a robbery, according to court records.

The murders had gone unsolved until Dominguez turned himself in to border patrol agents on Feb. 23, 2018, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Dominguez, whose last known residence was in Ensenada, Mexico, shot 28-year-old Andres Bello and 18-year-old Juan Cabral on July 23, 1991, during a robbery of the restaurant, prosecutors said. He put the victims’ bodies in a freezer at the restaurant and fled, prosecutors said.

Dominguez was charged with the murders in December.
