Scout-O-Rama showcases the fun of Boy Scouts in Orange County
Orange County’s Boy Scout troops gathered Saturday, May 11, at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado for their biggest event of the year, Scout-O-Rama.
First order of business was to welcome the organization’s newest members: several all-girl troops. In February, the Boy Scouts of America started including girls in its ranks.
Following the opening ceremony, the scouts wandered among booths organized by troops and local groups featuring demonstrations of skills, as well as carnival games. Scouts did archery, tried out the climbing wall and took canoe rides.
This is the Boy Scouts’ 99th year in Orange County.
