A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries when struck by a truck Wednesday morning, May 22 in Costa Mesa, police said.

The crash prompted the closure of northbound Newport Boulevard at Cecil Place at around 6 a.m.

It was immediately unknown what led to the crash but police reported that the driver, a 34-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
