“One of the victims was believed to have been in the wheelchair,” said Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Beckman.

The crash took place around 3:50 p.m., police said. Anaheim Avenue between 19th Street and Plumer Street were closed as of 8:45 p.m. while traffic officers continued to investigate the incident.

Beckman said the driver of the truck remained at the scene following the crash and has cooperated with investigators.
