Santa Ana dance instructor charged in sexual assault of teen student
SANTA ANA — A dance instructor who coaches teenagers for quinceanera celebrations is being accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student in the city of Orange, authorities said Friday.
Jesus Alamilla Caballero, 46, of Santa Ana, is charged with a felony count of lewd or lascivious acts on a child 14 or 15. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana May 31.
Caballero, who was being held on $1 million bail, could face up to three years in prison if convicted at trial.
Last month, Caballero allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy after driving him home from quinceanera dance lessons, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. The boy later told his mother, who called police.
Investigators suspect there could be more alleged victims, so they asked anyone who might have relevant information to call 714-744-7571.
