Pedestrian dies in Westminster crash
A pedestrian died early Sunday, June 9 in a collision involving at least one vehicle in Westminster.
Units were dispatched at 4:20 a.m. to the scene of a collision near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Washington Avenue, Westminster Police Department officials said in a news release. There, officers found an injured man who died before paramedics could take him to a hospital.
Preliminary evidence suggests that the man may have been hit by two vehicles Sunday morning, said the release. The driver involved in the initial collision stayed at the scene with the pedestrian after he was struck. Information regarding a second motorist or vehicle possibly involved in the incident was not immediately released.
Investigators were working to identify the victim as of Sunday afternoon. He was described as Asian by Westminster police, and Orange County Coroner’s officials said in a press release the man was 62 years old.
