91-year-old found dead after Fountain Valley fire

An elderly man was found dead after a fire at a house in Fountain Valley on Tuesday, June 11.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 7 p.m. after a woman at a home burning on the 18000 block of Plumosa Street called 911, Fountain Valley Police said in a press release. Crews managed to put out the blaze, but found the caller’s 91-year-old husband dead inside of the building.

His name was not immediately released, the release said. His wife was not injured.

Investigators were looking into the incident, but the fire appeared to have been accidental as of Tuesday evening, police said.
