Get ready to Paint San Clemente: Annual weeklong competition starts Saturday

The 18th annual Paint San Clemente event takes place in San Clemente Saturday through June 30. Sponsored by the San Clemente Art Association, the weeklong event is comprised of separate events that bring local and national artists to paint San Clemente scenes.

• Quick draw competition – 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday: Artists paint along Avenida del Mar to the Pier. Artwork is displayed for viewing and for sale immediately following the competition at 4:30 p.m. in the SC Art Association gallery through July 26.
• Plein air painting – June 22-28: Artists paint outdoor scenes throughout San Clemente.
• Event gala – 6-7:30 p.m. June 29: Artwork created during the week will be displayed and winners announced. Admission $25.
• Outdoor art exhibit and sale: 10-4 p.m. June 29 and 30, Community Center lawn.
