HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Orange County coroner’s office on Saturday released the name of a 26-year-old pedestrian killed when struck by a car in Huntington Beach.

Jason Cahua was a Huntington Beach resident, the coroner’s office said.

The victim now identified as Cahua was hit by a 2004 black Ford Ranger just after 5 a.m. Wednesday on Adams Avenue west of Magnolia Street, Huntington Beach police said.

Cahua was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:32 a.m., the coroner’s office said.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from Huntington Beach, remained on scene and cooperated with police. Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, police said.

Anyone who saw the collision and can help investigators with information was asked to call Huntington Beach police at 714-536-5670 or 714-536-5666.
