82-year-old Westminster man dies in Huntington Beach crash

by in News

An 82-year-old Westminster man died Wednesday night, June 26, in a two-vehicle crash in a Huntington Beach intersection.

Shortly after 7 p.m. officers went to the crash site at Edinger Avenue and Graham Street and found a Toyota Tacoma truck with damage to the front, said Sgt. Eric Warken of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was found unresponsive inside and taken to a hospital, where he later died, Warken said. It appears the man was not wearing a seatbelt.

A second vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, had major damage to the door behind the driver’s seat. The driver, a 32-year-old Huntington Beach woman, was in her car and complaining of pain. It was unclear if she was taken to a hospital.

Police said it appeared the Tacoma was traveling west as the Corolla was driving south and they collided in the intersection, Warken said.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call police at 714-536-5670.
