135 new homes coming to Rancho Cucamonga with starting prices under $400,000
Rancho Cucamonga is getting 135 new homes priced to start under $400,000.
Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. is building three-story townhomes and single-stacked flats at The Resort, a 160-acre community by Lewis Community Developers near the MetroLink Red Line station.
New Home’s Nova Rancho Cucamonga will have residences in three plans that range from 879 to 1,222 square feet of space with two bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Pricing is expected to start “in the high $300,000s,” New Home stated, “the lowest starting price point in The Resort and surrounding area.” The builder will start pre-sales this summer with a grand opening of the model homes expected early next year.
The Resort is being built on the site of the old Empire Lakes golf course, an Arnold Palmer-designed course that closed three years ago. When completed, The Resort will include up to 3,450 apartments and homes plus 85,000-square-feet of non-residential development.
The Southern California housing market hasn’t been kind to builders of late as house hunters have switched gears and now want cheaper options.
Builders sold 1,705 new homes in the six-county sales region in May, off 18.1% in a year. The median of $534,000 was down 8.3% in a year. In San Bernardino County, 283 new homes were sold — down 22% in a year. Median of $482,500 was down 0.9% in 12 months.
