Whether it was starting the day with a 10K run and a most-patriotic dog contest in Laguna Niguel, or joining several hundred thousand others at Huntington Beach’s annual Fourth of July parade, Orange County showed its red, white and blue colors Thursday in honor of Independence Day.
Actor Lorenzo Lamas was the celebrity grand marshal for Surf City’s 115th annual parade, which this year celebrated the theme “Sweet Land of Liberty.”
All around the county there were runs, festivals, patriotic contests — all, of course, capped off with dramatic fireworks displays to honor the nation.
