Disneyland brawl: Case sent to District Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution

by in News

Anaheim police have turned over their investigation into a family brawl caught on video in Disneyland’s Toontown over the weekend to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

The case was presented to prosecutors on Tuesday for review, Anaheim police said, despite those involved in the brawl denying to authorities that any wrong-doing had occurred.

Prosecutors confirmed they had received the case and were reviewing it.  No one was in custody for the Saturday, July 6 incident.

The melee, recorded by a bystander and posted on YouTube, had been viewed more than 2.3 million times by Wednesday on that site alone.

The video of the profanity-laced fight was also republished to various other sites.

WARNING: This video contains graphic content.

The video starts with a man yelling at a woman, who spits in his face. The man then punches her repeatedly and about four other family members become involved.

During the four-minute-plus video, various family members strike one another as children in their group and other park guests watch.

Some bystanders try to intervene. Eventually, security arrives and the family is escorted out of the park.

Anaheim police, who initially didn’t see the video, took a report but the family was uncooperative. Detectives saw the video the next day and opened the criminal investigation.
