Woman gets out of vehicle after accident in Los Alamitos, is struck and killed

LOS ALAMITOS — A woman was killed while outside a vehicle on the transition road from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Los Alamitos, authorities said Saturday.

Brittani Beauford, 30, had been in an accident and got out of a vehicle on the transition road when she was fatally struck, Supervising Orange County Deputy Coroner E. Arellano said. Beauford’s city of residence was not available, Arellano said.

The fatality was reported at 11:55 p.m. Friday, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

All lanes of the 405 Freeway were closed from just north of the Garden Grove (22) Freeway until 3:31 a.m. when the HOV lane and lanes 1 and 2 were reopened, he said. Remaining lanes were reopened at 4:50 a.m.
