CHP investigating after body found near 405 Freeway off-ramp in Westminster
An investigation was underway after a man’s body was found near a 405 Freeway off-ramp in Westminster early Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol received a call just before 12:40 a.m. from the Westminster Police Department after the body was spotted by a caller off the southbound 405 near Bolsa Avenue, Officer Duane Graham said.
Officers arrived and contacted the coroner, who pronounced the man dead. Further information on his age and name were not immediately available.
“It appeared he’d been there for some time,” Graham said.
The body was found next to a sound wall within a construction area, but officials do not suspect foul play, Graham said.
It wasn’t immediately known how the body ended up at the location, but Graham said it didn’t appear the man had been struck by a vehicle.
“That’s not the direction we’re going,” Graham said. “It was far enough off the freeway that it was not believed to be how this person ended up there.”
The man’s cause of death was not immediately known.
