Garden Grove police shoot, wound suspect in Westminster

Garden Grove police shot and wounded a suspect in Westminster on Thursday, Aug. 22.

The shooting happened on the 10000 block of Bolsa Avenue at about 5:20 p.m., Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney said. Detectives had been investigating in the area prior to the incident.

Officers were seen blocking off the area surrounding a white SUV that had crashed into a Mormon church at 10332 Bolsa Avenue in footage aired on television.

Details on what led up to the shooting and the condition of the person shot were not immediately released.
