Driver escapes after ramming stolen vehicle into La Habra police patrol car
A La Habra police officer was injured Thursday when the driver of a vehicle that had been reported stolen rammed his patrol car.
Officials said officers were sent to the 900 block of West Las Lomas Drive to check out a vehicle that was parked in the area for over an hour with people inside.
Officers discovered the gold Nissan Altima, with a California license plate of 7LQL668, had been reported stolen from Norwalk.
Police said the driver, a man with blond hair and about 5 feet 8 inches tall, intentionally rammed the Altima into an officer’s patrol vehicle, with the officer still inside. The suspect then escaped in the Altima.
The officer was sent to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released.
Police asked anyone who sees the Altima to call 562-383-4300.
