Man gets jail time for breaking into train and threatening conductor
A man who forced his way onto an idled train in Fullerton and menaced a conductor was sentenced Friday to jail and probation.
Easton Deli Bunch, 27, was sentenced to 296 days in jail followed by three years probation, after pleading guilty earlier this year to a half-dozen criminal charges, including felony assault and misdemeanor tampering with railroad apparatus, court records show.
On March 18, Bunch broke into a largely unoccupied Metrolink train at the Fullerton station using a pickaxe and a chain.
According to police, Bunch ignored the conductors demand that he get off the train, instead lunging at the train employee. Officers responded to the scene, and convinced Bunch to put down the axe and chain and to surrender.
