Man shot in face in Anaheim during apparent gang-related shooting
A man was expected to recover after getting shot in the face early Wednesday in what police believe to be a gang-related crime.
At around 3 a.m., police were called to the 900 block of Dickel Street, near Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim police said.
The victim was pulled from a parked, small sedan, stopped in the street, by paramedics who then took him to a hospital.
Sgt. Shane Carringer said he was shot at least once. Further details regarding what might have led up to the shooting were not immediately released.
Authorities later served a search warrant in connection with the attack and surrounded a building near the 800 block of North Lemon Street, Anaheim police said in a 4:12 p.m. tweet. A SWAT team searched the structure but did not locate a suspect.
