Fullerton man identified as suspect in sex-related crimes, police say there may be more victims
Police identified a 24-year-old man Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, who they say is tied to multiple sex-related crimes in Fullerton.
Last week on Nov. 13, two teen girls reported that they were walking together about 1:20 p.m. in the area of Walnut and Richman avenues, when a man pulled up next to them in a 2000 black Ford Mustang, Fullerton police said.
The car was facing the wrong way on the street and the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Kevin Bejarno, called out to the 15- and 16-year-old girls to get their attention, Fullerton Lt. Jon Radus said Wednesday. They ignored him and continued walking.
“Bejarno made a U-turn, and again pulled up next to the females, this time driving slowly alongside them with his genitals exposed while masturbating,” Radus said. The Fullerton man then fled in the car.
Later that day just before 4:45 p.m. Bejarno approached a 24-year-old woman on foot in the area of Highland and Baker avenues and grabbed her from behind. Police said he committed a sexual battery before the woman broke free. He again fled, police said.
Detectives investigated the case and arrested Bejarno the following day tied to the second incident. He bailed out of jail on Nov. 15, police said. Three days later he was linked to the child annoyance incident on Walnut and Richman avenues and was arrested. He bailed out again on Nov. 19.
Investigators believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information about the two incidents or others is asked to contact Detective Lloyd White at 714-738-6762.
