Cave fire: LA and Orange County departments help fight massive Santa Barbara blaze
LOS ANGELES — Firefighters from the Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Santa Monica fire departments, the Orange County Fire Authority and a Los Angeles County firefighting helicopter assisted crews in Santa Barbara County Monday into Tuesday battling a wildfire in the Los Padres National Forest.
The LAFD sent a strike team consisting of five engines and a battalion chief to assist at the Cave fire, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

In addition to the Firehawk night water dropping helicopter, the Los Angeles County Fire Department sent two strike teams to help battle the flames, the department said.
A strike team of firefighters from the Culver City, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica fire departments was also dispatched to the Cave Fire.
The OCFA also sent a strike team of five engines.
“These units have been sent as an ‘immediate need’ resource request to assist with structure defense,” the OCFA said.
The fire has grown to over 3,000 acres and was being pushed by high winds.
