by in News

A man hit by a vehicle in Huntington Beach died Tuesday evening, Nov. 26.

Authorities were notified of the crash at about 7:28 p.m., Huntington Beach Police Lt. Julio Mendez said.

A pedestrian was struck while in a vehicle lane, outside of a crosswalk, of Goldenwest Street between Warner and Slater Avenues, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.

The driver involved in the collision waited for police to arrive, Mendez said. Officials did not immediately find evidence suggesting drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Both directions of Goldenwest were shut down as late as 9 p.m., as investigators gathered evidence from the scene of the crash, Mendez said. They were expected to remain in the area through the evening.
