Police: La Habra man arrested following fatal DUI crash
Officers with the La Habra Police Department arrested a 26-year-old motorist on suspicion of hitting and killing a pedestrian on Friday, police announced Monday.
Ricardo Preciado-Saldivar, 26, of La Habra, allegedly struck and killed a 52-year-old man near La Habra and Harbor boulevards just before 5:30 a.m. on Friday, according to the La Habra Police Department.
The pedestrian who died was identified by the Orange County Coroner’s Office as Pablo Tiul, of La Habra.
Preciado-Saldivar was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange with a bail of $1 million. Jail records show he was arrested Friday.
Police said Preciado-Saldivar was possibly under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash, and investigators forwarded the case to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
