FedEx truck filled with Christmas packages catches fire in Fullerton
A FedEx truck filled with packages ahead of Christmas caught fire early Sunday in Fullerton, damaging many of the gifts inside.
The fire was first reported at around 2:05 a.m., according to Fullerton fire officials. The truck was spotted burning on the southbound side of the 57 Freeway near the Yorba Linda Boulevard exit.
When firefighters arrived, they located the blaze burning inside the truck’s cargo hold. They extinguished the fire quickly, but numerous packages were destroyed.
Fire officials Sunday didn’t know how many of the packages were damaged, or the extent of the damage to the truck. A cause has not yet been determined.
The truck driver was not injured in the fire.
