6 hospitalized, including 2 children, in Mission Viejo crash
A multi-vehicle crash in Mission Viejo on Sunday, Jan. 5 left two children and four other people injured .
At least three vehicles were involved in a collision near the intersection of Alicia Parkway and Jeronimo Road at about 1:30 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Cope said. First-responders transported six patients to the hospital.

Five of those hurt sustained traumatic injuries, Orange County Fire Authorities said in a Tweet. Further information regarding the identities or condition of those hospitalized, and details regarding what might have led up to the crash were not immediately released.
The smashed front end of a black pickup truck was pressed against the dislodged bumper of a gray sedan in photos posted to Twitter by the OCFA. As many as nine vehicles may have been involved or stopped in the crash. However, not all may have been hit, OCSD officials said.
The incident was under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department. Authorities did not immediately find evidence suggesting that alcohol or drugs played a role.
