Motorcyclist fatally injured in Fountain Valley crash

A motorcyclist died Monday following a collision with an SUV in Fountain Valley, authorities said.

The crash, involving a 2001 Harley-Davidson Sportster and a 2019 Chevrolet Trax, occurred near the intersection of Bushard Street and Talbert Avenue at 11:24 a.m., police said. The motorcyclist, a 24-year old Mission Viejo man, was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.

A 91-year old man from Corona was behind the wheel of the SUV involved in the collision, police said. He was interviewed by police and later released. Preliminary evidence does not suggest that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, police said.
