Temps at 2 Southern California spots, including John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, were hottest in the nation Monday
High temperatures recorded Monday at John Wayne Airport in Orange County and the Oceanside Airport were the hottest in the nation, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperatures at both airports peaked at 84 degrees, the NWS reported.
Meteorologists’ forecasts early Monday reported that coastal cities in Orange County, including Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, would see high temperatures between 75 and 80 degrees, while cities in inland Orange County cities such as Santa Ana, Anaheim, Irvine and Orange, would have high temperatures between 76 and 81 degrees.

The temperature at John Wayne Airport rose just enough to make it, and Oceanside Airport, America’s hottest locations. The coldest spot in America was about 230 miles southwest of Denver. The NWS measured Alamosa, Colorado at a frigid -11 degrees.
Warm weather is expected to subside fairly quickly, as meteorologists predict lower winds and cooler temperatures on Tuesday.
