At some point, Erica Aranda left the home, but did not take her purse, keys or medication, Toni Aranda said. Without the medication, Erica Aranda is prone to seizures, her sister said.

Erica Aranda is 5-feet-4-inches with long, light brown hair and a visible scar on the left temple of her forehead, Toni Aranda said. She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a gray hoodie and multiple scarves.

The family filed a missing persons report with Santa Ana Police Department the following day, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
